Michael Watson, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon committed to getting you back to a healthy and active lifestyle. Drawing on his own athletic experiences — and with over three decades of experience — he helps patients of all ages and athletic backgrounds by providing personalized sports medicine to meet their unique conditions and treatment needs.
Dr. Watson has always been interested in medicine and felt specifically called to the speciality of orthopedics because he enjoys helping patients recover from their injuries, find relief from their pain and get back to the activities they enjoy.
A board-certified orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Watson received his medical degree from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, completed residencies in orthopedic surgery at Ochsner Foundation Hospital and Southern Louisiana Medical Center and completed a residency in pediatric orthopedic surgery from Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children in Shreveport, Louisiana.
He also served as a captain in the United States Army, providing medical care at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas — and now serves AdventHealth orthopedic patients and many professional sports teams, including past work with the New Orleans Saints.
Striving to live a healthy life and stay active, Dr. Watson makes running and golfing a regular part of his own wellness routine. He also enjoys fishing and preparing healthy meals to calm and lift his spirit.
Dr. Watson understands the value of an empathetic doctor-patient relationship. It's his mission to treat you like he would want to be treated if he was a patient — with compassion, respect and skill.
