Buck Scott, M.D., attended medical school at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine and completed his residency at Oshsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans, LA.
Dr. Scott’s interest in medicine sprang from when he was a teenager volunteering in a local hospital. After seeing the profound effect that doctors can have on the health and wellbeing of their patients, he was inspired. From then on, he knew he wanted to be a part of that.
Evidenced-based, patient-centered care is the cornerstone of Dr. Scott’s practice philosophy. He seeks to provide every patient with the optimal surgical treatment for their individual case.
He wants them to know he is treating them the same way he would treat a member of his family. His goal is to be a thoughtful listener and be able to educate his patients in easy-to-understand language. With this type of doctor-patient relationship, Dr. Scott hopes his patients are confident in making decisions about their care that will lead them toward the road to healthier living.
As a general surgeon, Dr. Scott performs a wide range of procedures including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, breast surgery, thyroid surgery, abdominal procedures, stomach and intestinal surgery, colon surgery, colonoscopy, skin cancer surgery and ports.
Dr. Scott is a born and raised Floridian. He has strong ties to the Lake Wales community, with his wife being from Lake Wales.
