Growing up on an island with limited health resources, Malika George, MD knows access to comprehensive medical care is vital. Following her heart, she answered the call to medicine and set out to make a difference in the world.
Dr. George graduated from the University of South Florida College of Medicine and completed her residency at Orlando Regional Medical Center, where she conducted a study on controlling diabetes in hospitalized patients. Her role in helping establish a Diabetic Education Clinic - the first of its kind in Orange County, FL - has resulted in positive changes in the way hospitals manage diabetic patients.
Board-certified in internal medicine, Dr. George serves patients today in Deltona, Florida at every stage of life with services that include:
- Annual health screenings
- Diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic diseases
- Routine health and well-woman exams
- School, work and sports physicals
- Skin biopsies
Dr. George continues to help others outside AdventHealth Medical Group Primary Care at Doyle by serving in various volunteer positions. After Hurricane Katrina, she volunteered at a Mississippi health clinic assisting those affected by the hurricane. And, through AmeriCorps, she's reached disadvantaged populations that might otherwise go without proper medical care.
